A dream about a party, a ritual at church, a goldfish and a day at the beach with worms...

"Last night I had a dream I was at a party (at the same place my cousin had her sweet 16. dark room. dark blue carpet and lots of big windows) and my friend wanted me to go into another room with her and her dad. I was a bit apprehensive because I felt like I wasn't supposed to be there with them.

In the other room was a church. (I've gone with her to church before). We stood behind the altar and there was an old, hunched over man with a long white beard performing this ritual thing. I don't think there was anyone else in the pews. He was tracing this symbol that looked like this: MM, except they were connected. He was having trouble, so I went outside (it was now a school hallway) and got a piece of glass out of a fish tank and handed it to someone. I stayed out there and talked to the fish, who was my old goldfish, Mr. Beebe, who died. I was talking to him about icky water plants.

At first I had my face to the glass and was poking at the plants inside, and then I felt like I was in the fish tank with him. And when I looked underwater, it was dark with a giant butterfly formation made out of sand. And then the scene switched and I was walking along the beach with people who I'm not sure if I know. It looked like a storm was coming. It looked like a movie scene.

We were all walking with rags on, hair all crazy. I remember someone saying something about the last wave was three hours ago (there were people there as if it were a regular day at the beach) and I heard something about a war. Then we walked to the far side of the beach and there were these giant black worms. They were barely moving and we were dodging them. Some of them ate frogs and left a checkered pattern in the sand when they slithered, and the ones who ate people left a different pattern."

Wow, thank you for sending me such a bizarre dream, I just love the weird ones!! For all my other readers, please feel free to email me your weird dreams at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com. The more detail (and the weirder) the better!

Dreaming that you are at a party can occasionally be a call to get out more and enjoy yourself, but I think in this case we should consider the room rather than the event taking place in the room, as the details you remember seem to pertain more to the room itself. The color blue is often considered to be a hopeful color, and rooms with a lot of windows are often places from which a person could see a bright future. I would suggest that this portion of the dream is directly referencing your optimistic outlook, or your dreams of a grand future.

From here, your friend and her father lead you into another room, which looks like a church. Friends (like relatives) often appear in our dreams to symbolize another side of ourselves, often a side that we do not immediately identify as typical of ourselves. Churches are places of spirituality, and guidance, and the additional appearance of an old man performing a ritual furthers this suggestion. This portion of the dream may reflect a need to get right, or get on a spiritual path that can guide you to greater fulfillment. This is, of course, assuming that you like going to church! It is entirely possible, if this portion of the dream made you nervous or uncomfortable, that you need to seek that spirituality out for yourself, independent of churches, friends, family or organized religion. Your relationship with whatever higher power you believe in is a very personal thing, don't let anyone bully you into a faith you don't feel good about.

The symbol that you're talking about, a connected series of M's, sounds like a continuously swiggling line, almost like a crude drawing of a mountain range. To me, it sounds like the kind of spiritual fulfillment you are looking for will be the result of something personal, and fundamental to your personality. Its roots are in your earliest memories, your most basic understanding of the world around you.

The next sequence is very interesting. Dreaming about living in a fish tank is often an expression of a sense of "swimming in circles." This indicates that you may feel like some aspects of your life aren't progressing as quickly as you'd like them to. However, in light of the big blue room, and the windows in the early part of your dream, as well as the appearance of your childhood friend, Mr. Beebe, I think that this part of the dream is more about self-discovery than something more negative. Koi fish are symbols of prosperity and good luck, and I'd have to say goldfish aren't much different than that, at least not to me. Again, I think this portion of your dream is about your optimism, good luck and desire to become a more emotionally aware person. This is further influenced by the symbol of the butterfly that you see in the sand- butterflies being a symbol of beautiful transformation.

Finally, you find yourself at the beach. At this point, things look pretty bleak for you, you're surrounded by people whom you don't know, you're dressed in rags and your hair is a total mess. There's talk of a big storm, and even a war, but ostensibly you keep on moving.

The last major image that you have in this dream are these big, slithery disgusting worms that are slowly moving along the sand, eating frogs and people. Well, worms these worms are nasty things, living underground and looking to destroy all that comes into their path. In this instance, I believe these worms represent some nagging doubts, some of which may be serious concerns, which plague your internal picture of your bright future. Luckily, you've evaded them thus far. I believe that you may be able to reconcile some of those doubts if you are brave enough to do some of the spiritual or emotional discovery that your psyche seems to call for in the earlier sequences of your dream.

Recurring dreams about running late & Having accidents

"I have this reoccurring dream that I am always running late - in school, at work, in a date. In the dream I am always in a hurry to the point that I feel chest heaviness and cold clammy skin. I also had this dream that I witness a bus accident wherein babies/children were thrown off the bus into a ditch. Me and a couple of friends ran over and tried reviving them. Every time I pick up a child, they become conscious. Could you please tell me what my dreams mean?"

Thank you for sending in your dreams for a free reading! I hope I can help you better understand them. As usual, please feel free to email your dreams to me for a reading at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com; for anyone who has not sent a dream to me before, the more detail the better! As you'll see from this short reading, the more information you give me, the more complete a picture I can create for you.

Dreaming about running late may simply be an expression of pent-up anxiety or panic. The physical feelings of having clammy, sweaty hands or a heavy chest reflect that idea as well. Dreaming that you witness an accident involving children reflects a fear that you may have of not reaching up to your full potential, or not realizing your dreams. The fact that the children come back to consciousness when you pick them up implies that it's not too late for you to do the things in life that you've always dreamt of doing!

I hope this brief reading was helpful! Please feel free to post comments here, or to send them directly to me at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com.

A dream about going all the way with an old friend...

"I've known this guy since we were 18 months old, right? Out of nowhere, I have this dream, and it goes like this:
The first thing i see is my dad and his dad (who are best friends) and their like making a movie or something.. it was really weird.

They tell me and this guy...we'll call him Bob. They tell me and Bob to go get something from this place..
When we get to this room, its like filled with memory foam pads that you would put on your mattress.

Before i know it, bob puts his arms around my waist..(in real life, we are not attracted to each other, I don't think)
Anyways, he starts kissing my neck.

Then, we go all the way. ALL the way... like, sex.

And I'm like.. so confused about it because like I dont love him or anything.
But, the dream made me feel like really happy when i woke up...Help?"

Thank you for opening up the interior of your mind to me, and to my readers. As per usual, please feel free to comment here, or to email me directly at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com. To this particular dreamer, I'd also like to say thank you for your patience, I have been running very behind on my dream readings lately- but I promise, if you send me a dream, I'll get to it as soon as I can.

I believe there are a few elements at work in this dream, some of which I never expected to discuss here on this blog, but all of which I'm glad to reflect upon. The first major point in this dream is the presence of your father, and his best friend; fathers are figures of authority, people that we (hopefully) trust and respect, and for a young teen such as yourself, fathers are people who protect us from making decisions about our bodies and our sexuality that could have serious consequences in our futures.

The type of dream that you are describing probably has biological origins in your brain. During puberty, our bodies release a large number of hormones which generate all sorts of things that you probably know all about, and in addition to the obvious physical stuff, like boobs and hair and hips, those hormones also cause a serious spike in a person's sex drive.

In your waking life, you may have a lot of conflicted feelings about sex, knowing that it's something that you're supposed to do after your married, or only with someone that you love, but hearing stories about everybody else doing it. I'm sure you've heard people in your life tell you that not everyone is doing it, even though it may seem like you're the only person who isn't, and as a successful survivor of adolescence, I can confirm it- you are not the only one not doing it. I can also confirm that everyone who's around your age is thinking about doing it, at least once a day they're thinking about it, if not 1938478 times per day- regardless of whither or not they've done it!

As I mentioned, this is largely biological. Your body is getting down to the serious business of readying itself to reproduce, and there are few things as important to the survival of the human race as reproduction. So while your mind is very logically thinking "I'm going to wait until I'm married/in love to have sex" your body is generating hormones that create an interest in, and strong desire for, sex. Regardless of whither or not you're having sex, you are going to have dreams like this, and some of the time, they are going to be freaking awesome. I can't even begin to think about the number of absolutely wonderful dreams I've had about having sex with various people whom I have no interest in or feelings for- these dreams are a psychological response to the physiological situation inside your body.

Now, that being said, your dream involves someone whom may be a very reasonable person for you to have sex with. As the son of your dad's best friend, this is someone who you know well and probably trust. Of all the people you could have dreamt about, you dreamt about someone who might actually be a trust-worthy partner, and I think that this speaks to the fact that you've been brought up well, and you're smart.

It would be a mistake to see this dream as a sort of "call", "reason" or "premonition" about actually having sex with this person. If you don't have any specific feelings for this guy, or you're not attracted to him, I wouldn't pay too much attention to your dream, as it's likely that he is your partner in this dream because of the qualities that he has- some of these qualities are things you want in a partner, but that doesn't mean he's "the Guy."

I hope that this analysis of your dream helps! Please feel free to email me directly at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com with any comments or questions!

A dream about a dress, a play, going bra less and a broken cell phone

"I'm a freshmen in high school and there's a boy i like who's a sophomore.
l don't talk to him much only every once in a while but i really want
to, I just don't know how.

OK here's my dream..
It starts of with me dress shopping with my mom. I was trying on dresses but didn't really have to try them on i would just look at a dress and see how it looked on me.

I chose a teal sparkly one just like one that i have in real life but I did not realize it at the
time. I was buying a dress because me and my friends and what seemed like my entire grade were going to a play/ prom/ graduation thing. It was like we had to watch the play first and then the graduation but after that there would be a dance.

So then I was out on the lawn with my friends and they all went somewhere except one. While we were
sitting there the boy i like walked by with a group of friends and they all kept walking but he stopped to say hi so I stood up to say hi and we play fully started "fighting" each other and then there was a ton of flirting. After he left I asked my one friend who was still there if she had seen what happened because I was so excited but she
said she wasn't looking.

I was about to tell her but the teachers came out and told us to come in because it was about to start. Then I was
in a hallway but it was a hallway of a school that i don't recognize.

We met up with all my other friends and I was about to tell them what happened but we had to go inside the gym. When we got in there there were silver stands set up like you would sit in for a sports game. I told my friends id text them what happened since we weren't allowed to talk but I dropped my phone and it broke. Then I was talking to one of my friends and was telling them about how i already owned the same dress as the one i was wearing and it was a waste of money. i also remember not wearing a bra underneath my dress and feeling very uncomfortable but i don't know if that is significant or not.

I know its not the most exciting dream but everything went really fast and was very confusing and I'm wondering if I'm trying to subconsciously tell myself something..."

Thank you so much for sending this dream in for a free dream reading, I do think that your subconscious mind is sending some messages to you, but before I start cracking the code for you, let me remind my other readers that I would be more than happy to look at their dreams as well, just email Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com and I will read your dream, free!

So, let's talk a little bit about clothes. Fashion is an extremely important means of self-expression for many people, particularly for young women. The dream begins with you and your mother shopping for a dress for this odd school related event, and you are able to try things on without actually changing into them.

For someone to whom a dress is strictly a garment, a dress may not be a significant element in a dream. However, for someone who loves clothes, a dress is much more than just fabric and findings- a dress says a lot about a person. A dress is an expression of a self that we'd like the world to believe we are.

In this case, you're shopping with someone whom you hopefully respect, admire and trust, your mother. Mother figures in dreams are often reflections of a mature, reserved side to a person's personality. Now, if your mother isn't particularly reserved or mature, this may just be a point of comparison between an aspect of her personality as it matches up to yours.

Now, instead of buying a new dress, the two of you manage to buy a dress that is identical to one you already have. To me, this suggests that the thing you need to find the confidence to talk to this boy that you like is something you already have. Maybe it's knowledge in a common interest. Maybe you already have something to say to him, you simply need the occasion to say it... that's at least what it sounds like.

Of all the things I've had in my life, I've always had the gift of being rather brash. There are very few people, men or otherwise, who have made me to anxious to strike up a conversation. While I'm not the prettiest girl, the thinnest, the sweetest or the most talented, I've managed to do quite well with the boys! I tend to meet someone, find them interesting and kind of lure them in. And you know what? It's not a science- it's just that I show that I'm interested. If I want to have a conversation, I walk up and start talking. If I have something to say, I always wind up saying it.

I'm sure you will find an occasion for yourself. When you do, you'll be glad you did. I'd be surprised if you didn't at least make a new friend in the process. Above and beyond all else, do what is right for YOU! At your age, there is a world of men and boys out there for you. No need to rush. There's plenty where this one came from, trust me.

Back to the dream. What you're describing in the 'play' as well as the play fighting that you engage in with this boy, are both social performances. High school cliques center themselves around various sorts of performances, things like the way that you dress, the slang that you use, the place that you eat (possibly even what you eat) as well as who you eat with, these things are all aspects of a social performance that adolescents use to define themselves. I suspect that the performances you're encountering in your dream are echos of those performances; the play fighting is an expression of a physical, or sexual tension that you are feeling towards this guy.

Interestingly, one of the "critics" of this social performance, your good friend, wasn't actually watching the two of you, as you expected she would be. You want to relate the experience to her, but find that you are in an unfamiliar place, with teachers ordering you around. This may be an expression of the changing rules or social protocols of your group, as well as the issues of being constantly supervised by adults, to whom you have to defer at all times. Personally, I never did well with people telling me where to be all the time.

So you want to tell your friends what had happened with your crush, but you find all your methods of communication failing you- first you're not allowed to talk, then you talk about the wrong stuff, and then you drop your cell phone! Annoying!!

This portion of your dream seems to reference the things that you are not saying. I can guess that this leads back to your crush again, and your desire to communicate more freely about your feelings towards him.

The final bit, about being bra less, is likely important as well. There is a sense out there in the world that having a crush is an embarrassing thing, a situation that must be kept secret at all costs, unless of course, your crush is reciprocated! Well, the feelings of being uncomfortable that you are describing, along with the fact that you're bra less in public, suggests that you are feeling exposed. Are you afraid to approach this guy, and talk to him, because he might know that you like him?

At any rate, you are the only person who can say for sure what this dream is all about- but hopefully my analysis can suggest some meanings to you. Thank you for sending this dream in for a free reading, as usual, readers, email your dreams to me at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com for a free reading.

A dream as a premonition, or a dream about anxiety?

"I had my dream in the morning I was sitting on the toilet when the phone rang. My partner picked it up and walked to the toilet and said " It's for you "
On the other end of the phone was my sister, crying, saying " he's bleeding again. "
I fell to my knees, and the shock and sadness I felt made it hard to cry out, nothing would come out of my mouth only wounded noises.
I felt truly shaken by this dream due to the fact my father had a cerebral stroke in February 2009 and has not recovered fully from it. I have heard dreams in the morning can sometimes be premonitions is this true ? I hope you can help me"

Thank you for sending me this interesting dream, and for raising the question for all of my readers. As per usual, readers can feel free to contribute to the discussion here, or to email me their dreams at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com for a free dream interpretation.

I have had several instances in my life where I find myself in a situation which feels oddly familiar only to realize I've dreamt about it before. Occasionally, it's just a common element, a person standing in a particular place, or the color of the sunset, a feeling or something fleeting, while other times things are precisely the same in real life as what I've dreamt. Obviously this is an unusual circumstance, and in my case, I've never dreamt about anything important, which adds to the overall strangeness of the situation.

In this case, the difficulty in crying out that you are describing sounds similar to the type of paralysis our bodies are locked in as we sleep. Our brains centralize our dream state to prevent us from physically doing the things that we dream we are doing in our dreams, so when a person dreams that they cannot run in order to flee from danger, the fear and frustration they are feeling have a physical root. Because you are experiencing something very particular to dreaming, rather than something a person would often feel in a waking state, I feel that this dream is an expression of your anxiety over your father's failing health, rather than a premonition of a future crisis.

It's likely that you are living in a state of repressed fear, knowing that things could change for him at any time, and without any warning. Few things in life are as scary as a health crisis of the type you are describing, as all control is out of your hands. Things could get worse, you could get a phone call at any time that will change your life forever. I certainly feel for you, in this difficult time, and while you'll likely continue to experience this anxiety, I hope you can rest easier knowing that this dream is simply your mind playing out a possible scenario in order to channel your emotions over your father's illness. Thank you so much for opening up, and sending in this dream. I really hope that this free dream reading helps in some way, and of course, feel free to comment here or email me directly at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com

Dreams about being chased by wolves

"I've been having these dreams that are starting to worry me. Usually I forget my dreams as soon as I wake up, however there are a couple of dreams that I seem to keep replaying in my head. It all started with this one dream, Me and my cousin are walking down the street, when all of a sudden we find ourselves being chased by wolves, however the wolves can talk, I'm able to convince them to take me and leave my cousin, she runs off to get help and i go with the wolves.

Then we get to a clearing in the woods and the wolves turn into men. We get to talking, me trying to convince them to let me go and then suddenly one of them says he can't read my mind, while the others claim they can. All of a sudden he is claiming I'm his mate, I tell him I'm married and pregnant ( even though in real life I'm not, only 19). Somehow my cousin and my husband find us and my " mate" lets me leave although he looks furious and sad. The dream continues I don't remember whether i lost the child or gave birth, but my husband dies, and the wolf comes back again and we become friends.

After I had that dream, I've been dreaming about wolves more. They always seem to be chasing me in particular, and the wolves always look like the ones from the first dream. Does it mean anything at all or do i have an over active imagination?"

Thank you for sending in this fascinating dream! Let me start by answering your last question, of course your dreams mean something!! Dreams are expressions, emotions, impressions and images generated by our minds as we sleep. The things that we think and feel in our waking lives play a role in the way our imaginations select and then generate this imagery, allowing an outlet for the things we cannot, or will not, express consciously while awake. For this reason, dreams often seem like nonsense, they employ a strange sort of logic that applies only within the four walls of your own skull, but, just because they don't make any obvious sense when you recount them to yourself upon waking doesn't mean they don't mean anything, or have any value!

That's where I come in. While I am not a professional therapist, or psychologist, I've been up to my ears in weird dreams and dream books for as long as I can remember. I'm good at spotting the emotional cues that people provide in their emails, and I am able to string together the likely situations behind the generation of strange dreams. So for all my dreamers out there, please feel free to email me at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com, and I'll interpreter your dreams, free of charge, here on my blog.

Wolves are a common symbol in dream lore, and they can represent a number of different things, depending on your personal associations with them as well as their role within the plot of your dream. On a fundamental level, wolves are pack animals with a clear cut social order and hierarchy, and they are often monogamous. As the ancestor of the domestic dog, or man's best friend, I find that a large number of people who dream about wolves dream about them in the way that you're describing- as simultaneously dangerous and yet intriguing, even friendly, creatures.

Your dream begins with you and your cousin being chased by wolves. Cousins in dreams often play similar roles that a sibling or parent would, as they stand in for a part of yourself that you may not consider to be a dominant element of your personality. Perhaps you are shy, but you have a great sense of humor, and your cousin is outspoken and hilariously funny with everyone she meets, well, this would be an easy example of your cousin existing in your dream to represent that other, funnier, more outspoken side to you. Conversely, it may be that your cousin is someone whom you protect, and look out for, as evidenced by the fact that you convince the wolves to let her go. Since I don't know you, or your cousin personally, I can't say for certain what trait it is that she embodies, but I'm pretty sure that's the case here.

Perhaps because of the emergence of fantasy films and media as a dominant force in current pop culture, werewolves and vampires, both creatures of transformation, are also becoming symbols of a sort of brutal, forbidden sexuality. What your dream is reflecting is an anxiety over being the object of the rather brutal sexuality of young men, a group who is predatory and manipulative, and will rather famously say anything to get into your hot young pants. In your dream, this exists mostly within the subtext, as you are chased by these wolves who become men and then attempt to claim you as a mate. Rather than going along with this, you lie and tell the man (for he is a man at this point) that you're married and pregnant.

I remember being in situations when I was younger, when I used to work as a rave promoter especially, where I'd be out at a massive party and creepy dudes would hit on me. I used to wear a ridiculously massive fake engagement ring, so that I could pretend not only that a male friend was my fiance, but also so I'd look like a gold digger and therefore be less attractive! Once, when faced with a particularly persistent creep, I started to fake cry and proclaimed that I was pregnant. Worked like a charm!

Your lie, though, because you're dreaming and the logic is different, does not work exactly as you'd imagined it would. The man isn't backing off, and beyond that, you create a fake dream husband and child in the process. The dream husband, because he's paired with a child, seems to represent a less threatening version of male sexuality. He is the man you want, the one who wants more from you than just an intense mating session, and he's come to rescue you from those rabid boys who have been chasing you down! Of course, being that he is something that you drew into the dream by wishing that he existed, he does not last throughout its entire plot.

What happens instead is that you become friends with the man who seemed threatening to you in the beginning. This seems a rational set of circumstances, if you consider the movement of events: first you're chased by a beast, then the beast becomes a reasonable animal has a sexual interest in you, then that interest seems to wane, and finally the threat is contained.

I hope this dream reading is helpful! While you are the only person who can say for sure what your dreams mean, I hope that this interpretation of their symbols has been helpful, and I thank you for sending me your dream. As per usual, please feel free to email me directly with any comments or questions at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com, or leave them here for all to see!

Recurring dreams about snakes

"I'm hoping you can help give me some insight into a recurring dream I've been having. For years now, I've been dreaming about snakes. It's almost always the same scenario. Usually I am at home in bed and I wake up to see a giant snake staring back at me. I'm always terrified and feel helpless to fight it off. Other times, I will be in the house and realize a snake has somehow gotten in and I will have to find a way to get it out. I'm always alone and I never confront the snake - I'm generally frozen in terror.

I get that this must be some kind of anxiety dream, but beyond that, I'm just not sure . . ."

Thank you so much for sending me this very interesting dream, and thank you for being patient, as I'm running quite behind on the blog right now! For my other readers, if you'd like one of your dreams interpreted, please feel free to email me at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com and I'll get to it as quickly as possible!

I hope I'm able to introduce some ideas to help you understand the possible meanings of these recurrent dreams. I've written before that I believe that dreams have meanings which are extremely subjective, and that your personal thoughts and feelings about the images in your dreams play an important role in understanding the meanings of symbols. I mention this again because I believe that the various meanings of a snake in a dream are influenced greatly by our personal impression of the animal- some people find it repugnant, or terrifying, while others are fascinated by it. I would assume that you fall into the group which finds snakes terrifying, but of course, I can't be sure as I don't know you personally!

It's wise of you to read this dream as a reflection of anxiety, as it likely is, but an anxiety of what? Having a marked fear of snakes, or a deep-seated repulsion of them as animals would likely cause your brain to place a snake in your dream in order to reflect the negative associations with the animal. Snakes are sneaky, cunning, dangerous animals which creep silently into warm places, like beds, and lie in wait for their unsuspecting victims. If you were raised in the American west, as I was, snakes were a legitimate thing to fear, as an encounter with a rattlesnake could be fatal. So, in dreaming of a snake hiding in your bed, are you dreaming about an unknown danger, or a danger that seems to perpetually loom over you? Perhaps.

Freud tended to associate anything cylindrical with a phallus, particularly if, as snakes do, that cylindrical object found its home within a hole or burrow. The fact that the snake often appears in your bed with you implies to me that it is possible that you may be experiencing anxiety of a sexual nature- maybe even some sort of phobia over the phallus?

Beds are also symbols of a safe, secure place in which we imagine we will find peace. So again, this might lead back to a more generalized sort of anxiety over the loss or potential loss of security, in one or all of its forms. The dreams that you have in which you find a snake within your home lend a little credence to the possibility of this fact, as dreams about a house are actually dreams about the self. How a house appears to us in our dreams is often indicative of how we see ourselves within the world, and to have a snake invade that space would lead me to believe that perhaps the snake is representing a trait of yours, one that you may use to sabotage your own success.

The tricky thing about finding meanings in recurrent dreams is that unless the dreams are identical, there are more symbols employed and thus, more possible answers to the questions posed! While these dreams are obviously quite similar, with this level of detail, it is difficult to decide whither or not they are expressing the same emotions or concerns. And of course, there are the converse, positively associated meanings of the snake: transformation, wisdom and renewal. It is certainly possible that, if you are usually interested in snakes in your waking life, that in your dream, you are confusing a positive thing like change with a negative threat to your life style. Only you can say for sure which of these meanings provides the ultimate answer to the meaning of your dream!

I hope that this free dream reading has helped! Please feel free to email me with comments, or leave them here. If any of my other readers would like their dream analyzed for free, email it to me at Rachel.Beezy88@gmail.com.
